Independence

Every person, no matter his or her level of ability, has the right to live independently. We all have dreams, aspirations and goals that should be encouraged and supported. ICAN staff members are dedicated to assisting individuals in recognizing and reaching their full potential.

Counseling

Everyone needs—and deserves—a helping hand, whether it’s to celebrate our achievements, or pick us up during the rough times. Counseling, comfort and effective listening teaches us to validate and address the needs of others, and discover how the lessons in life can become positive learning experiences.

Advocacy

We all have rights and beliefs that should be heard and protected. ICAN is vigilant in the advocacy of those we serve. Not only do we teach individuals to express their wants and needs, but also to become self-advocates who can speak in unison..."One voice joining others makes a voice that is heard.”

Network

Positive teamwork and relationships among social contacts, family and staff are essential in building a sense of belonging. We believe networking integrates individuals within their communities, and helps establish loyalties and trust.
